Description
Shine
3D-printed decorative light
60 × 60 × 8 cm
Shine.
Shine is a decorative 3D-printed light designed for display on a wall or horizontal surface.
Its square body resembles a frame, yet instead of surrounding an image it becomes a luminous object in its own right. The layered surface diffuses the LED light and creates a soft, spatial glow.
Different areas of the light vary in depth and density. Light passes through folds, projections and translucent fragments, emphasising the relief and changing character of the surface.
In some places the form remains subtle and diffused; in others it becomes more pronounced and sculptural.
Light and form as one
The project was inspired by natural processes of flow and accumulation — wave patterns, traces of wind, mineral structures and forms created through the gradual layering of material.
3D-printing technology made it possible to combine structure, ornament and lighting function in a single object. The visible material layers were not concealed; they became part of the design’s aesthetic and enhance the effect of light passing through the form.
The LED module gives the light a warm, calm glow and reveals the spatial character of the relief.
Shine can be displayed as a wall light or as a luminous object placed on a plinth, table or other stable surface. Changing its orientation alters the perception of the composition, allowing it to function both as a useful object and as an autonomous decorative piece.

#obiekty3D to cykl projektów, w którym badam relacje między światłem, konstrukcją, technologią i przestrzenną formą.
I am interested in bringing structures created in the digital environment into the material world. Each object is a distinct form, yet together they tell a story about the possibilities of contemporary design and 3D printing.
